Default Macro to generate an index with page numbers

Does anyone have a macro that generates a word index for every word in a document? I have seen old posts that show examples with word frequency, but that's not what I need. I need the index to show the word and its corresponding line and page number.

Is it also possible to make the page number clickable, like a hyperlink to that specific page? TIA!

See, for example: https://www.msofficeforums.com/word-...sage-same.html
Hyperlinking would be problematic, since every word would need to be bookmarked and, moreover, wouldn't work unless every instance on every page appears in the index.

Yes, this is the original code I have been playing around with. Thanks!

But is there a way to replace the number next to the word with the page number(s) rather than frequency? I am not sure how to manipulate the code because this is over my head. I know there is software that can generate every single word and page number with hyperlinks, but I guess the next best thing would be to have just the word and page number.

I provide 30-60 page transcripts for researchers, and I think it would be useful to have this index for them to reference. Legal transcripts also index every single word.

When I run macro in Word it just gives me one column of numbers (I'm assuming these are the page numbers?) and then beneath that, a two-column table with the word in first column and frequency in second column.

The code I posted in that thread already has an option to output the page #s...

Hi lovexlyn; by an amazing coincidence, I as a new user, answered a very old question this morning.

This post if I've done the hyperlink thing correctly.
Cheers, Chris
