![]() I have a Word 2016 table and when I added a bottom row the characters are cut off. Could it have something to do with the margins inside the cell? I don't see how to change them. |

I'm on Office 365, but I think your controls should be pretty similar (ribbon-based.) When you're somewhere inside the table, a ribbon item called "Layout" should appear on the far right. You can access cell margins and more from there. (picture 1 attached) I'd also check out the paragraph settings in both the problem cell and the "good" one above it. My guess is there's some auto line spacing "after" in the bottom row. See the area in paragraph settings that I boxed in green highlight. Hope this helps, Ann |

Thank you. Yes, for some reason the line spacing in that row was set to a certain value rather than single. When I changed it to single it corrected the letters cut off problem.

On a related note, you might want to fiddle with the pasting defaults under File/Options. Under the Advanced section, there are defaults you can set for when you're pasting within the same document, between Word documents, and from other programs. If you default "destination settings" you'll be less likely to have irregularities get pasted in. This setting is for the application, and not, I think, customizable for a document, regardless of user, which I wish I had sometimes. If there's a way to do that for an individual document, I'd love to know. - Ann |
