Default The Auto Fit Window in Word is not responding

Hi. Every quarter, I copy and paste excel data into a Word document. I have not had any issues in the past but now the Word tables do not automatically fit into the width of the page when I click the AutoFit Window command under the Table Layout tab. Any idea about the cause? I need to paste around 40 tables and it is a hassle manually adjusting the table to fit into the width of the document.
Thank you.

Have you tried repairing the Office installation?

As for the process itself, have you considered using DATABASE fields linked to the source data to automate the importation? For a demonstration of such usage, see:

Thank you, Paul, for the reference. I tried linking the tables from the source (Excel) 5 years ago but the document freezed when I refreshed the tables so I resorted to the tedious copy paste.

I suspect your previous linking was via LINK fields. The DATABASE field is quite different.
