adding a comment changes column width
Reviewing a file with four tables on the page for a colleague, and mildly suggested that four identical tables (part n°, description, quantity) will look smarter if the column widths are the same :-} I adjusted the column widths with Table properties > Cell > Preferred width and was happy that the page did indeed end up looking smarter and more convincing.
But … when I added a comment to the first resized cell, this changed the width of the column. Is this just "the way things happen"? |

Did you uncheck the 'Automatically resize to fit contents' option?
Table Tools>Layout>Properties>Options.
