Default Floating a Table

am writing a description and am having a hard time placing the image in the attached file. This is a Word 2000 file. Below the image is a one-row, one-column table that contains the caption. There are several of these in my description. Please see the attached photo.

Is there a better way to insert the image and caption? There are several of these in the description.

Please see the second question in the attached file.

Are you using Insert Caption to insert the caption?

Why a table rather than a text box?

What is the wrapping setting on the image and caption?

You could put the image inside a one-cell table and include the caption in the same table. Set the wratpping for the table.

I've got a more recent version of Word and I can't replicate the issue on my version. In earlier versions of Word, I've had problems with list elements and text wrapping but I rarely do this and maybe Microsoft have fixed it now.

It appears that the 'To adjust...' paragraph has a Keep with next setting which might be causing the flow issue on Word 2000. Does the text flow back up if you change the style of those paragraphs to 'Normal'?

How do I send a sample document to this forum, and is there a file size limit?

The way I would do it would be to set the whole thing up in a table, sort of like this.

Then just make the borders invisible by selecting "No Borders", or set them to white, so they don't show at all against the white page.
