Can you rotate tables by 90 degrees in Word?
Hi everyone,
I have a table in Word which contains so many columns that it's going to be tricky filling it in. The body text is already small, and the company is moving away from inserting landscape pages into its otherwise portrait documents (Google Docs doesn't like them!) Sooooo, is there a way to rotate the table by 90 degrees to keep it on a portrait page (A4 size)? That way, we'd be able to make the columns much wider. Thanks in advance! 1. Put the table in a text box.
2. Rotate the text box. |

That is pure bloody genius. Why didn't I think of that?!
Thank you so much!!! xxx |

PS That's worked brilliantly. Just one thing, though - it's added a little white space at the base of the green header row, either end. Any way around that?

PS When I click on the table, it becomes rotated so that it's easier to fill in, until you click away from it.
That's great - but we can't see the outer columns. Is there a way to show these when filling in the table? |

The white space is likely Word display wonkiness. I get funky artifacts like that when messing w/ table formats.
The only thing I can suggest re: the columns is to adjust the table size to make more of the table visible when rotated. For example, you can probably narrow both Risk Level and Residual Risk Level...possibly Timescale as well. |

Word permits a shape (text box) to extend beyond the edge of the page. You can not view an area beyond the edge of the page. You cannot scroll to it.
You have three options to type there and see what you are typing as you type it:

See my amended post that gives a third option of temporarily changing the page size.
