Default Aligning table to top of margin

I have an image inside a table. It's a kludge for formatting reasons to keep the caption with the image. I dragged the table onto a different page and now there's no way to have it start exactly on the margin. It's currently going over the top margin and for some reason the align options are greyed out. The green guide lines that appear when moving an image around do not appear when moving the table around.

Click on the table and choose Table Tools|Layout|Properties>Table>Positioning>Vertical - Position: Top, Relative To: Margin.

Have you explored using a pair of styles where the first you apply has Keep with next? this usually works for me. (I say 'the first', cautiously, because I don't know whether you prefer image + caption or caption + image)

That really won't help with wrapped shapes and their captions. See the background discussion in: https://www.msofficeforums.com/word/...e-numbers.html
