Default Using tables in a Word document

I have Office 2003 Professional on my computer; recently I made a table to keep track of my medicines that I take. Time of day etc.; will upload an example. I keep it on my desktop for convenience. When I open it to enter time of day & then close it, it will not close unless I change the name. Before I could just hit the save button or Crtl + S to save it now it will either save to My Documents or desktop when I add a number. I’ve done a repair from both Word (Help-detect & repair) and control panel (uninstall or change a program) All have failed. I’ve noticed that in Windows 10 Pro some of the updates break’s things.

I assume that you are saving to your computer rather than to cloud storage.

Does it indicate in the title bar that it is read-only?

The file you have attached to post #1 is a Word template, not a document. As such, when you double-click on it, Word will create a new document based on that template and, if that new document is to be saved, it will need to be saved via Save As.

I had been saving this to my desktop for convenience & each time I tried to save the edited file it went to ‘Documents’ with a different name. My work around was to create a different folder in ‘Documents’ which is working great after I edit the .doc by adding data to it.

OH & thanks for your help guys. A big thumbs up!
