Default "Don't add space between paragraphs of the same style" within tables

I've noticed that when I have a style that uses "Don't add space between paragraphs of the same style" and use it in a table, Word sees any cells to the right as part of the same paragraph.

So imagine you have a style called "Table bullet" that has 3pt before and after, and this option turned on. It works a treat because you have bullets in a table cell with even space above and below and no space between the lines. If you then put bullets in the cell to the right, the space at the bottom of the first cell disappears and there is no space at the top of the next cell.

And here is the style definition:

It took me a while to work out this was the problem. Seems like a bug to me: any other opinions?

Does no one else see this as a bug/unwanted functionality? I can't see why you'd want this.

Not in my opinion. Not all users would create such a scenario to find it cumbersome. JMO...

Can you think of any reason why the "don't apply..." option should affect adjacent cells though? I'd say that a different table cell should be seen as a new paragraph, regardless of whether the situation would commonly arise or not.
