Paginate table so cell headings appear top of page instead bottom page when no room bottom page
I have a document that is comprised of the following:
For example, a "header" appears both at the bottom of page 1 and at the top of page 2 in the attached document. I believe this is due to a table heading "repeat rows at top of page" setting. The goal is to have the text BEFORE (and the heading) appear at the top of the 2nd page (and be omitted entirely from the 1st page, because no data follows the heading and therefore it looks strange that the heading appears on both pages). I tried inserting a page break as well as inserting blank paragraphs. The result is the same: the text before the heading and the heading appear on page 2 (not page 1); however, nothing else appears on page 2. the rest of the the table continues on page 3. I checked the settings/atttributes of the cells/rows/table and have not found anything that causes this. That being said, I did not create this document (nor did the person who gave it to me). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. |

EDIT: After reviewing the table more closely and seeing your concern, I do not have a solution to the problem...it has me beat! However, because the content of the table is basically "sample data" I would seriously look toward creating your own table and data. If you need assistance in doing so, here is a link provided by a resident contributor that may be of help: http://www.addbalance.com/usersguide/tables.htm |

Paginating in a table
Hi again,
I kept the original document because it is using a template. If no one has an answer, I will try recreating the document. Thanks. |

Your so-called "text BEFORE (and the heading)" is not part of the table at all. Someone has added it to the page header. The simple solution is to change the document's page layout to use the 'different first page' setup, then add the "text BEFORE (and the heading)" to the second page header.

Did not work...
Thanks.
I tried your suggestion - it did not do the trick. There is another similar situation later in the document; when I insert empty lines to force pagination to a new page, it works fine. The two sets of text and column headings appear to have the same attributes. I am guessing somethin else is amiss with this document. When I deleted all the data in the "cells" and then added new data, the pagination worked correctly. So strange. If no one else has a suggestion, I guess I will have to create a new doc from an original doc if this situation occurs again. Thanks again... |

Perhaps, then you could attach a document showing what you expect the table in your previous attachment to appear as?
