Default Location of Autocorrect tables

I'm running into some strange stuff between Word 97 and Word 2007 - my Word 97 autocorrect table is complete, but the Word 2007 table is practically empty.

Where is this data kept? Is it in a format that can be read by an external user (i.e. other than from within Word itself?)

I'd like to get all the standard '97 entries moved to 2007, and I'd like to know how to manipulate the tables outside of Word.
