Default hyperlinking a table row

i'm trying to hyperlink all text within an entire row in a table but apparently the hyperlink
option is greyed out. is the function of hyperlinking rows not possible in Word 2010?
transferring my Word table to Excel is not an option in this case.

That suggests you're trying to turn multiple cells into a single hyperlink, but hyperlinks cannot do that. The same applies to Excel.

this can be done in Excel 2010. select the cells or row and hit the hyperlink button.
i was hoping that Word would allow for this but, apparently not.

What Excel does, is to create two (or more) separate hyperlinks to the same destination, not one hyperlink spanning two (or more) cells. In Word, each cell has to be hyperlinked individually. The end result is the same as in Excel though.
