Red face Can't sign in due to two admin profiles.

For several weeks now, I have had all of my sign in attempts rejected due to either password or username. I consulted my control settings and found that I had two different profiles, both of which are administrative. It also says I can delete one but with a risk of loosing all or some data. Can you confirm that this is true. Also can you advise if any other precautions should be taken.
