You haven't replied to post #7 even if, from what you written till now, I doubt it is a network drive. All you have to do is get the "Take Ownership" option working. Are you launching the .REG file as Administrator ?

Re "Are you launching the .REG file as Administrator"? How do I do that? It isn't a .reg file I am trying to open. It is a Word folder/file.

I have tried all the solutions suggested by people on this forum and nothing works. When I try to take control, do I select "Administrator", "Users" or my name? Nothing works.

I don't remember if it has already been suggested, but you might also try temporarily disabling your antimalware before applying the suggestions provided so far.
