Default The case of the missing Cursor.

I have a problem with the cursor disappearing in Word 2010 (or extremely faint). I have two pc's with Word 2010, and Windows 10 OS, one has this problem the other does not. The only real difference is one has very high resolution, it tends to reduce everything to miniscule, the problem is worse in italics text. In display in the OS I have the font size set to max. Help please.

You can use the 'mouse settings' to modify the icons used for the arrows, selections, etc.

Default Went to Mouse Settings

I tried changing the settings, I made the arrow black instead of white, I added trails to help find the darn thing on the page but no matter what I do, once the cursor hits the text, it becomes an extremely faint squiggly line.
