Default trouble with remote desktop connection

I have some work that I want to do that uses a remote desktop connection for some streaming audio. I'm currently on XP. When I click on the remote desktop connection icon it comes up fine with the name of the server, but when I hit connect, it get a message saying that the computer can't find the remote desktop connection. I used to be able to connect a few months ago. The reason I want to try it again is because back in March or so I think the wi-fi connection was too slow, so we've upgraded to 15 Mps, I think, so I want to test it out to see if it'll work. (but it's strange; I can view streaming video fine). Anyway, does anyone have any ideas on why I can't even connect, and what I can possibly do about it? I usually use a mac, but I have to use windows for this work.
