Default Visio connector custom line or fill style

I want to make electrical wiring diagrams with custom colored wires, as are common in automotive electrical wiring diagrams. The wires need to be various colors with diagonal and straight stripes of various colors. Some wires have three colors. I have tried formatting the colors of connectors, but it seems to only allow one color. Formatting a fill for a connector seems to have no effect, same as for a line. Naturally, I want the endpoints of connector segments to stay attached when a segment is moved or resized. I'm not sure if line segments will do that. In the old Visio, I believe you could import bitmap fills for shapes. Is that possible with Visio Professional 2010? Can fills be seen on lines and connectors?
