i am creating a floor plan. i have added doors using the door shape and on my map they all display the DIMS of the doors and it clutters the map. How do i stop the door DIMs from showing?

On my machine, a doorway shows the dimensions while it is selected but the dimensions disappear when not selected.

I'm pretty sure the visibility would be controllable via a shapesheet edit, probably at the page or document level. Perhaps if you posted a sample document, we can examine what you have in your document and work out where the setting is that needs to change.
