show and hide connected shapes
Hi,
I'm a complete beginner to Visio. I'm trying to put something together that shows processes and documents that link to those processes. The connectors being between the process shapes and document shapes. What I'd like to be able to do is have the ability to have the documents shapes hidden and then when a process is clicked it unhides the connected documents shapes. Additionally documents may be linked to more than one process so it would have to work taking this into consideration. Is this something Visio can do? Any help really appreciated. |

Conceivably, this would be possible with macros if there is an event that would kick off a macro by changing selection. This does seem like a lot of work to create and might not be a realistic project for someone who is a complete beginner.
A simpler solution for a beginner would be to create additional pages with the connected documents and then use a method that takes you to that page. This video gives a good tutorial on how you can do this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJMOTil_3cM
