Visio .emf export crops image
Visio cropping images when saved as .emf images, has anyone ever figured out why this happens? I use this method of creating emf images in Visio then importing them into word to reduce the document size verses importing the visio diagram. If the visio diagram is saved as any other format there is no issue importing it into word. |

I used to have this issue and used a workaround of putting a small white object in the bottom corner of the graphic so that the 'exported emf' cut off something I couldn't see instead of the rest of the graphic.
I've since moved on to exporting in PNG format and don't have that problem anymore. I moved away from EMF because there were occasional graphics that had font substitution issues as well as the trimming issue that made me distrust the format. Having said that, I just test exported an oval shape as an EMF and it looked fine in Word so 'today' the EMF format appears Ok for me.

Visio .emf export crops image
Thank you for suggestions and reply Guessed.
I experience the same issue where sometimes the EMF imports with no issues and others the image is cropped. I had tried the white box as well, this consumes to much time to figure out what size the white box needs to he and the proper location to place the box. So, I also continued as you have eluded to and saved the Visio as a PNG and this works with no cropping issues. It also creates a smaller image size when saving, therefore a win/win. D |

Good to hear that the PNG works for you. If you stick with that format you can avoid the clumsy workaround.
The white box doesn't need to be the same size as the entire graphic. It should just be little but poke out into the margin area of the image where it would be cut off. From memory when I used to have the issue the right and bottom edges got cut off so I stuck the little box down in that corner a few pixels beyond where the rest of the graphic sat.
