Visio 2019 standard: How to import a custom shape
I need to create a flowchart using decorative custom shapes. There is a Microsoft support video that describes how to import custom shapes from the Internet, but the steps don't match what I see on the screen. It says
"1. Select Search shapes, type a key word, and select Start search. "2. Select Online." On my screen there is no "online" option. I actually want to import svg files that I have on my hard disk. In the video, in addition to "online" there is a "local" option which I also don't have on my screen. here is the video: Video: Import shapes Is there an easy way to import my svg files as shapes to Visio 2019? |

Never mind, I discovered how to do it by experimenting! I simply opened the svg file in Visio using File-Open. Then I dragged it to my custom stencil under My Shapes and named it. Once I opened a new file, the shape was available to use.
