Exclamation How to avoid file corruption

Hello, hello,
I lost a very long work, because visio file became corrupted and lost a long of time to repair it without success.
It happens many times ... i change my visio from 2016 to 2019, and the problem occurs.
Not systematically, but time from time.

So my question :
Which version of microsoft visio is reliable ?

How can I avoid to lost my files ? (Because of corruption!!)
Are the “cheap” versions of microsoft visio reliable ? I bought it about 19euros(=19dolllars), or should i buy from the official microsoft site ?

Thank you in advance.

I don't know what version of 'Visio' you are running but if it cost 19 Euros then I think it is fair to assume it is not an official licensed version. In this case, apparently you get what you paid for.

I have only ever used legal versions of Visio and as yet (over 10+ years) I haven't had file corruption issues. This may just be a coincidence but it could also be the start of a pattern.

The size of the setup file is 7M.
on microsoft.com site, "Visio Standard 2019" costs 439,00 € TTC !!

If you are using Visio for creating drawings then you have cheaper options. There are freeware drawing tools such as InkScape. There are also other tools that create org charts or flow diagrams too.

If you are using the automation and/or metadata features of Visio though then I don't know of any alternatives.
