OK, on my machine this isn't locked by default but it should be relatively easy to unlock.
Click on the parent shape, by clicking once on one of the text numbers (the selection handles should show the bar being selected). Then open the shapesheet and find the Protection Section. Change the value in LockFormat to 0 instead of 1. Then change the font size - it should be unlocked now.
