Sheet.<id> reference does not work
Hello everyone!
I was trying to reference shape custom cells by using she Sheet.<id> reference I read about in different places. However, it does not work. I just get no prompts when I attempt to write formula and Visio keeps telling me there is an error in the formula, no matter what. What can be the reason? Is it something to do with a localized version of Visio? Any ideas? The ultimate aim I am after is to make text field inside the shape to display the text defined in the custom cell of a shape itself. |

If your shape contains a User-Defined cell then you show that in the text by right clicking and going to Insert Field > Category=User-defined Cells. You then pick the relevant field name from the list.

Yes, I know. The problem that it works only when you're linking from the same object. If you must link across objects, you need a compound reference - as far as I know.

In that case, try something along the lines of
=Sheet.x!Prop.Row_1 = Sheet.x!User.MyProperty
