Deleting entries to a Legend shape
Visio 2010 introduced a new shape called a Legend that we could include in a stencil. Essentially, it offers a key to the types and numbers of specified shapes that the user has registered in his Legend and then employs within his drawing.
I am a newcomer to this facility and have registered a number of shapes that are incomplete or otherwise contain errors. How can I delete them from the register of shapes contained within the Legend? |

Typically, having asked the question, I find an answer for myself.
In this case, I created a brand new stencil and copied the legend shape on to it. From VISIO's perspective, the legend shape has no memory of its previous incarnation. I can create a new improved version of the stencil shape and log it into the Legend, with out getting an unwanted version number like "Limestone 13". The essential requirement seems to be that the user must employ a new stencil. |
