Unhappy Visio 2007 Can't rotate building door shape, No handle for rotation

I can rotate shapes I make with no problem however the pre-made shape that comes with the software, in this case the door in the Building Shapes will flip only. There is no rotate shape handle available while there are handles that allow me to change the swing of the door and the size of the opening etc. The protection settings in Format are all unchecked. If I attempt to change the angle number in the size & Position tool the field simply returns to 0 deg. Please advise what might be preventing me from orienting this shape properly.
