Is MS Visio 2007 suitable for creating (social) network diagram?
For work I made some (social) network diagrams in Excel, using a plugin called NodeXL. Unfortunately my workregulations don't allow the installation of such extensions.
I may however chose to use MS Visio 2007. Can anyone tell me if MS Visio 2007 is suitable for this purpose? Keep in mind i won't be able to use any extension for this program either! The idea is that I only have to enter the vertices/nodes (list of names) and the edges (list of connections) and let the program weave this together into a network diagram. For instance I'll import a list of names such as "John" and "Sarah", and the connections "John-Sarah", and get a nice network with 2 nodes. John - Sarah. Obviously I'll have a lot more nodes, a lot more connections and will want to be able to filter/hide/import from Excel etc. Looking forward to your answers! |

I have been waiting to find out if another poster would have information on this subject because, I have never known this to have been an option to perform. So, from my point of view, I do not think that it is an option (but, would not mind being proved wrong).
