Unhappy 10cm square on the screen does not print out as 10cm

I have just bought a 2nd-hand copy of Visio 2010 and loaded it into my PC. If I draw a square that appears to occupy 10cm by 10cm on the screen according to the Horizontal and Vertical rulers, then print it off the paper copy when measured is 10cm across the Horizontal axis but about 9.5cm down the Vertical axis. How do I make the paper copy measure accurately when printed off? I tried it out on another PC with Visio 2013 (same printer) and that one did print out true to scale?
