Default Using Visio Data-Linking to move workflow

Hi all,

I've done a quick search on the forums and don't believe this question has been raised previously (apologies if it has).

I know that Visio has the ability to update values in a diagram if you link the values to data in a form such as an excel sheet. But what I want to find out is whether I can add change where something is placed in my design by amending their location value in the data.

Ie imagine I have a vision diagram that shows a flow as below....
Initial Instruction>>>>>AutomaticInputtingAPIService>>>>>D atabaseX
In this scenario the AIAPIService may sit on Server'A' and thus the diagram shows in a straight line.

But if I was to go into my data form and state the the AIAPIService has been relocated to Server'B'. Could my design in visio automatically update to move the AIAPIService to no longer be found under Server'A' and have moved to Server'B' and as a result, the workflow connections (ie arrows) would re-route to 'Server'B aswell.

Hope that made sense (attached is two quick images to show what the automatic changes should look like

Hi Tony! I do not have an answer to your question (wish I did) but, in the event that you do not know, there is another Visio forum that appears to have more traffic/visitors at http://visguy.com/vgforum/ and you may get your answer there as well...maybe quicker...I don't know. HTHs.
