Default Pub.smi @#$%^&*(

There are thousands of pages online where everyone is looking to download
PUB.MSI in order to do the latest update. Does anyone here know where to
download this file? It is related to XP Publisher 2002 somehow. If I can
get a copy of it I will make a webpage just so others can download it to
stop all the problems it causes.
Publisher came installed on the new laptop but the cd that came with it
does not show this file. I need to find it to download somewhere. Thank
you. 3's

Hi, grampa,

There are lots of responses to those requests, also, that explain that you
need the original installation media that contains PUB.MSI. If your system
was pre-installed, and the manufacturer didn't give you a CD, you will need
to contact the manufacturer to get the installation media. They are
responsible for supporting the software they install.

Otherwise, if you don't need / want Publisher, you can uninstall it, and the
Windows Installer should no longer ask you for the CD containing PUB.MSI.

MSI files aren't offered for download (legally), because they are
installation files that (ideally) prove you own the software. If you do
find a download, I'd recommend you not use it, because it's not legal.

Hope that helps--
