Default White spots on image

I'm designing a Christmas greeting with Publisher 2019. I started with a blank document and built up the graphic by adding various components. The main image (jpg) looks great when viewed outside of Publisher and looks great when viewed in the design portion of Publisher. However, when I look at it in print preview, there are several white spots on the chest of the main character and unfortunately they also appear when printed. Where are these spots coming from and how do I get rid of them without starting all over?

I'm attaching a Word document containing two images - one without the spots and one with.

Your problem can't be diagnosed via screen shots in Word. You need to see if there are any objects sitting in front on the graphic in Publisher by doing a Select All and seeing what gets selected. If that doesn't reveal anything then see if there are any filter settings applied to the image.

If you still have the problem, try replacing the graphic with another image - it could actually be artefacts in the image you have chosen.
