Default Making a grid with diagonal lines extending outside of table

Greetings,

I am attempting to make a lattice grid and am having difficulty extending my diagonal lines as I wish to make them. I got one of them in, but none of the rest are visible even when I go through the same process.

I have attached an image of what I am trying to do (though it is actually a 3x4), and what I have been able to do in publisher thus far (which I want to be a 2x2 but with extended diagonals).

Thank you for your help, it is greatly appreciated.
