Default Setting up a template

Hi,

I'm trying to setup a template for a volunteer in our charity to be able to write a monthly newsletter for us. I've created an A4 (landscape) page in publisher and I've tried messing with the 'arrange' 'layout guides' in order to put some lines on the page for them to work with.

The problem is that I need to be able to move the guides individually and I can find is how to how to add a number of gride lines and how to space them. What I'm looking to do is make a couple of the colums a different size... can this be done?

It's in order to help keep the text boxes aligned so that it doens't look a mess! Maybe there's another suggestion you can think of? I'm pretty good on publisher but... I've come to the end of my ideas! lol

Thanks

The layout guides that you're using are really for equal spacing (i.e. if you want to divide the page evenly into 3 portions, etc.)

It sounds like you can use ruler guides. You can move them to anywhere on the page by just selecting and dragging, and you can have multiple ruler guides.

They can be found under Arrange -> Ruler Guides, and pick vertical or horizontal, depending on what you want for your publication. You can also just drag out these ruler guides from the rulers you see surrounding your page.

Hope that helps!
