Hi all, i am a little bit stuck on my current project plan so i joined this forum with the hope someone could assist me.
My problem is this:- I have created a large project program which was due to start in 1 week, however this has now been delayed and i want to change the start date and all the other dates by 3 weeks, can i do this in one go or do i need to go to every entry and alter each ones start date by 21 days? i have many links and predecessors in the program, does this make it harder or impossible to do? i don't want to start over and would appreciate the help, many thanks Steve. |

Hi Steve
All you need to do is first of all check that your schedule runs from the Project Start Date. To do this select Project followed by Project Information from the drop down list and you will see a field called Schedule From. Make sure that field is set to Project Start Date. Once you have done that all you need to do is change the project start date in the same dialog box. This will move your project as you requested. Tony |

Sorry that did not work for me, i did what you said, then when i changed the start date only that date changed, like i said i have many links and predecessors but aloso many that are not linked, so i don't know if this is effecting the movement of every date. I thought there might be someway of highlighting all then putting plus 21 days somewhere and then it would alter all by that amount, can't seem to find this though, so possibly it is not in project. i knew from the start that it would not be as simple as i hoped. cheers steve.

Hi Steve
There is no logical reason why this did not work. I tested the solution on my machine first and it worked fine. If you are happy to send me a copy of your plan to my business email I am happy to look at it for you. My email is otpm@blueyonder.co.uk. Tony |
