New to project - Predecessor Question
I have a project plan setup and basically it has several different department within our organization such as Human Resources, General Counsel, Accounting, etc. Ultimately we will be doing a project with every single one of them.
Within each group there are several tasks and the tasks are all predecssors of each other. Meaning task 1 has to be done before task 2 so forth and so on. Each task has a duration assigned to it. Before when I set a start date it would automatically adjust the rest of the tasks within that project to make them flow how it should. However, as soon as I mark one task complete in the % complete column the predecssors just stop working and the dates don't automatically update anymore. So if I try to shift a project up a week cause were ahead or something I can't...it won't automatically update the rest of the tasks by just entering the new date into the 1st task? Any ideas? |

Make sure that you dont have any constraints on the tasks and that they are all set to "As Soon As Possible." Also make sure that the calculator is set to Automatic and not Manual.
