Hi all,
Does anyone know how to customise the Early Start, Early Finish, Late Start and Late Finish fields so that in the columns they display as they number of days/weeks/months since the project began. In other words, suppose I haven't decided on a start date for the project yet, but what I'm interested in seeing is the total number of days/weeks/months needed to complete the project. If the above is possible, then my follow-on question is - how does one change the network diagram so that it displays the Late Start and Late Finish fields as well? Thanks, Benson |

I'm not 100% sure this is what you are after, but you can insert a new number column in a table, and then edit the column so it is a formula... [Project Start]-[Early Start], for example. You didn't say what you have tried... I don't know how much experience you have with making formula fields in Project.
Now that you have the calculated field(s), View the Network Diagram. Format > Boxes Copy the Template you want to add the field(s) to (a Copy button is provided) to launch the Data Definition dialog box. Give the template a name Towards the bottom of the Data Definition dialog boxin the "Choose Cells" section you can specify which fields you want to add and where to put them After the Data Definition dialog box is closed, you will need to use the template drop-down to apply the new template. |

Hi Kimberly,
Finally got around to looking at this one. I actually found a more detailed "how-to" at this link: http://forums.techarena.in/microsoft...ct/1342084.htm If you read Steve House's suggestions for formulae, and then use JulieS and m3lyssa's corrections, it all works out. m3lyssa multiplied by -1, but you can just swap the order of the fields inside the brackets and the result is the same. Once the ES, EF, LS and LF fields were defined, it was just a question of tweaking the box template formatting until it looked the way I wanted it to. Cheers, Benson |
