Effect of "availability of ressources"
Hello!
I'd love to use MS Project with regard to personal ressources, which are kind of special (although not really, but let me explain). I have three employers that will work on a project. Two of them will work full time (40 hourds a week), one will work only 3 days as he is busy with other projects the rest of the week. So I went to table of resources, right clicked the person with 3 days working and then "informations" and then I left his working times as is: 40 hours per week. Next step: I set "units" within "availability of ressources" to 60%, which essentially is 3 of 5 days a week. Now if I set a working package, that this very person is to do to 5 days and make this working package start on a Monday, I'd expect the package last until Tuesday next week (3 days this week, 2 days next week = 5 days). But the time of this package lasts from Monday ot Friday within the very same week. Would I have to set two days of working to "free" (i.e. no working on Tuesday and Wednesday) of will I have to set his working times each day to 4,8 hours instead of 8 hours? What is the purpose of "availability of ressources" at all? Sorry, I don't get it. Could somebody please help me out? Thanks in advance, Herakles |
