clicking link tasks again increases duration

Hi..

I have a group of linked tasks. when i select those tasks and click link again then the duration of the tasks would increase from 5.5days to 8 days! . The taks are linked from 1 to 8 then i link task 10 to task 5 and then task 10 to task 11 and so on.
By clicking the link tasks again, task 9 is also added along with task 5 to task 10.

Is that normal? how can I avaoid it?
