How to customize calendar info
Description
I continue have troubles with setting working time in the dialog: Change Working Time In dialogue: Change Working Time I can use: Options... . After this I go to Calendar options for this project. I can adjust the Start-time, End-time, etc. there. If I change this to Start time to 8:00 end time to 20:00, I expect to see these times in my dialogue: Change Working Time Problem In the dialogue: Change Working Time, the time At Calendar Standard remains at 8:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00. I would like to see this adjusted to my set settings. Question How do I get that Standard time presentation adjusted? Or: Why are these times not adjusted? |

Your assumption in your Description is totally incorrect. Making changes to the schedule on the Calendar page of the Options dialog DOES NOT apply those changes to the Change Working Time dialog. You need to manually enter your schedule information in both dialogs. Hope this helps.

DaleHoward, thanks for your reply.
So, if I understand correctly, the structure is: - Working time in: Project Settings are the basis for calculations in the planning - You can have these settings implemented in your standard calendar. (Change settings not only for the project but for all new projects) The start- and end-times are shown in the Work Time Changes dialog - Your project calendar becomes a new calendar for your project and is a copy of your Standard Calendar (which you just have set) - Resource calendars are copies of the selected calendar (Worktime Change is based on .... ) - If you have adjusted working hours at Resource calendar, it will be used for lead (calculated) time - If you have adjusted the working time of the Project calendar, these working hours will be used for lead (calculated) time |

I think your assumptions are pretty close. Keep in mind, however, that Microsoft Project uses the Project Calendar (set in the Project Information dialog) to calculate the schedule of every task in the project BEFORE you assign resources. When you assign resources to a task, the schedule shown on their Resource Calendars will control the schedule of the task. To completely override the Project Calendar (task has no resources assigned) or the Resource Calendars (task has resources assigned), you can use a Task Calendar. Hope this helps.
