Default Sub-project filter for report

Hi, I use a project master plan within which I import the sub-projects I work on. I would like to create a filter on the master plan to create reports of individual projects.

Example: I have 10 sub-projects within the master plan, I want to create a % status report of all and only the tasks in project 1.

How do I create a filter like this?

Thank you.

No, there is no way to do this by using a filter. But you CAN use AutoFilter instead. Open the master project and expand all of the tasks in every subproject. Insert the % Complete column to the right of the Task Name column. Click the AutoFilter pick list button (little arrow button) in the Task Name column header and select the checkbox for the name of the project on which you want to report. Microsoft Project will automatically select the checkboxes for each of the tasks in that project as well. I tested this and it works fine for me. Hope this helps.

Thank you for sharing. Unfortunately, I can't get it to work. I did exactly as you told me but the moment I confirm the selection in autofilter what happens is that it does not filter as I told it to. If I go back into autofilter to check I see selected boxes that I did not select and vice versa. I don't know if you have an answer to this situation, but probably if I need to make a report si only one project I can open the single file and create the report from there. It's a little more complex but it should work.

Try creating a filter with the criteria: "Project" "equals" "Project 1". And then create your report and select this filter in your report.
