I have a set start and finish date, how do I get project to calculate the duration of the task?

If set start and finish date, It is not recommended due to restrictions on task. However, duration is calculated automatically. Maybe because of the question mark?

I figured it out, needed to be switched from auto to manual, then the duration is calculated
