Project 2019 - using custom fields in reports
I want to create a report using two custom text fields in a table but I cannot see how to do so - is it feasible?

Add the 2 custom text fields to an existing or a new table and select this table when generating your report. Here a quick task report I generated using 3 custom text fields

Thanks - I know how to create them in a table but I wanted to use MS Project's Report tab to create a more professional looking report with Title etc, but you don't seem to be able to use custom fields in that. Is it possible other than copying and pasting into Word and 'prettying' it up as a Word table?

I might be missing something but to create a report, don't you need a table?
If it's a Visual Report, the custom fields are also available to you. |

If you go to the Report tab, you can create nice Reports in table format but when I go to the Field Picker list, I cannot find any of my custom fields.

By nice report, I guess you mean Visual Report? Are you saying your fields are not listed under Available Custom Fields in the Field Picker list?
Which fields are you trying to find and can you share a screenshot of your Field Picker list? Something similar to below. |

No I didn't mean the Visual Reports which 3xport straight to Excel but the ones that were introduced in Project 2013 where you can create your own Reports using Tables and Charts.

I'm on holiday and this laptop does not have MSP 2019, so cannot try it out. I'll be back at work on 18-Apr and will try it out then if you don't have a resolution by then.

So assuming we have these 2 custom text fields
We go and create a new Table report To add the 2 custom text fields in the report, go to Other Fields >> Custom and they should appear on top of the expanded list, if you named them else they will appear alongside other custom text fields with default names. custom flag and number fields will be under Flag and Number respectively in the Select Field picker Last edited by ProjectPlanner; 04-17-2022 at 10:32 AM. Thanks - I will retry - I couldn't find those Custom fields before. We have visitors at present but will get back to you when I have had chance to try it.

Thanks - that works. I don't know why I couldn't see the custom fields when I tried before. I was recovering from COVID so may be I just wasn't thinking straight!
Many thanks. |

Hi,
I am able to get the custom filed in the table, but how to get the same custom field in the graph and chart. And I am wandering how to re-arrange the custom table column. that means I want to move the column left and right side. Thank you |

To move fields around, right-click on them in the Field List and select either Move up or Move down.
