Task Budget Assignment and Balancing
I would like to enter a few tasks and the budget for them, a few staff members and their hourly costs and assign staff to those tasks (preferably monthly) to balance the cost against the tasks as close as I can. All tasks would be for the whole year.
For example, let's assume I have: Task 1 ($100K) Task 2 ($50K) Task 3 ($20K) Staff 1 ($100 hour) Staff 2 ($200 hour) Would it be possible to enter the tasks and the staff (resource) and say I would like put 10% of Staff 1 on Task 1, 50% of Staff 1 on Task 2, 40% of Staff 1 on Task 3 each month and play with the percentages until at the end of the year I'm as close to $100K for Task 1 as possible, etc. I read that I can set month work days, vacation, etc. I'm obviously new to MS Project and was wondering if this type of thing was doable. I would love to be pointed to any examples or sites to better learn as I am obviously new to Project. I've been using a spreadsheet to track everything in the past.
