Resource management and resource leveling
I have struggled for years with some issues on my projects. I believe that the tasks in my plans should have resources loaded and be leveled to a reasonable level. I also think that putting in actual hours worked, should also be put into my MS Project plans. I have rarely seen either of these happen. Most teams put tasks and dates into the plan, but do resource effort into a spreadsheet and track actuals in a timesheet system.
My questions: 1. do you think I am right 2. how do you do it? for example, do you put resources on all tasks, or do you manage the resources at a summary level to simplify. I searched this forum to figure out how people handle this, but couldn't find any clear answers. Thanks! |
