Question How to adjust Project Duration for Summer and Winter Hours - based on number of hours per day

Hi, we want to set up a template or project that will take a particular length of time if it's done in summer hours and more time if it's done in winter time. We'd like to be able to open this project and change the project start date and the duration to automatically adjust duration. Anyone any ideas?

Many thanks

Louise

Louise,

To be best of my limited knowledge, MS Project will not automatically change duration of a task, though it might be possible with VBA.

A workaround without VBA will be to use custom Duration, Start & Finish fields and then use formula to change the custom duration of a Task if it starts or ends in a winter month.

Default Project Durations

Hi Jerome

Thanks so much for your reply. I suspected that. I might try your suggestion but might be a step too far for the user who needs this.
