Default Earned Value isn't recalculated by MS Project

Dear experts,

I can't solve such problem. I want to import from Excel such data: "physical % complete" and "actual work" to update Earned value (BCWP) and ACWP.

I import only 3 fields: Task ID (task ID is used as a merge key to merge the data from Excel to Project), "physical % complete" and "actual work".

Problem occurs when data is imported. "Physical % complete" and "actual work" fields are filled with excel data, ACWP field is recalculated according to new "actual work" data from Excel, but BCWP turns to 0. When write the same "Physical % complete" in the corresponding cells manually, the BCWP is recalculated as it should be.

What is the problem with importing "Physical % complete" and recalculating BCWP, how to solve it???

Bellow is attached 3 screenshots:
1. Initial data in project
2. Excel data was imported ("Physical % complete", "actual work" and ACWP have been updated, BCWP turned to 0)

3. I just manually entered the same imported data over imported cells and BCWP recalculated)

Updated "Physical % complete", "actual work" data is highlighted in yellow.

Ilya,

I also encountered the same problem when I replicated the physical % import either through Excel or XML.

Unfortunately, I don't know what is causing it but a workaround is to add a new Cost custom field, say Cost1 & rename it Calculated BCWP and enter the following formula.

[Baseline Cost]*[Physical % Complete]/100

and for "calculation for task and group summary rows", select Rollup: Sum.

Hide the default BCWP and display the Calculated BCWP field and it will work with both Excel import and manual update.

The problem is that ACWP isnt calculated by Project- it is the actual cost. You would need to add the "actual cost" column to the programme and fill it on. BCWP is based on the %age complete to findo ut what it should cost, whereas actual cost can be any number.
