Unit of work
Hello,
Work = duration x assigned units So this is: time x units Then why does MS project show units of work as hours? Should it not be manhours or workerhours etc...? |

It doesn't - it shows assigned units as %. It shows work as hours (or days depending on the option you have chosen).
Thus your formula should be work = time x % and thus the units of duration and work are hours. |

But the formula for work is
work = duration x assigned units this is a universal formula |

What are you referring to when you say "assigned unit" which you see as measured in hours? |

No I mean the universal formula for work.
Work = duration x assigned number of units to the task. Assigned units can be as 5 men, 6 trucks, so the work then will be man hours or truck hours etc..... but why does MS project display it as hours only.... hour is duration. Work is not duration. it is how long certain amount of resource worked for it = duration x assigned units |

I hope this helps but if this is more of a "MS did it wrong" type comment I suspect it won't. Regards Miles |
