Can I show only views, tables etc in use in a specific plan
I have many tables, filters, views etc set up in various project plan files. I am creating a simple template for my client which will have a small subset of these fields, filters, tables and views.
I use the organiser to move the desired items into the blank "template" file (actually just a normal project plan with no tasks or resources). However I can't "see" the file as they will as all my normal views, tables etc are still visible as they're copied by default onto my global template. Is there anyway (other than having to use a clean PC) to view only the items which are saved into a specific file? Many thanks Miles |

Uncheck the "Automatically add new views, tables, filters and groups to global" setting under File > Options > Advanced > Display.
And as you can see from the right hand side of this image, the "Hide Activities" filter is not available on the Global Template. |

Does this work for items which have already been added to the global template some time ago or does it only prevent this behaviour going forwards? |

It only works for new items but you can always delete previous items from global template, if you rather they are not saved in global template.

it's a tricky question; I like having them there day to day but for the specific times when I need to view this cut down client template it is a pain
Sounds like there isn't a check box which can be ticked as you can in Word so I'll have to consider deleting it from the global one and then putting them back in... Thanks |
