Default Automatically assign first available resource of a certain type

I'm an intermediate to advanced Project user.

We have 4 bioreactor stations in our lab. I want to plan an experiment and ask Project to level the experiment to the first available bioreactor.

Right now I have defined each bioreactor as an individual resource (1-4) and when I plan an experiment I choose which of the 4 stations it will run on, and then Project can level the schedule if I overbook. But there's no way for me to know which station is available first unless I check manually.

Thanks
