Default Identify Active Predecessor

Hi,

I am new to ms project and I am creating a timeline, I was hoping there was a way to easily identify what predecessor is driving the schedule when there are multiple predecessors on one task.
eg.

36SS,24FS+4 wks,35SS

It would bold, or underline or someway show that the one task is driving the schedule and the others are not.

Thanks in advance!!

Not completely sure what you are trying to achieve - whether its showing others the driver, seeing for yourself, or something else?
Probably easiest just to show a critical path view, although obviously this would only give you critical tasks. I suspect this would be enough, as any live programme will change with progress, and the driver may often change.

I wish this was possible also, I am a P6 user and the driving predecessor is always indicated which makes tracing the driving logic much easier. I am not aware of any means to show this in MSP...but will watch this thread just in case!

Ok, select the task you are trying to identify its driving predecessor, by clicking the 'Task' tab, 'Tasks' group, 'Inspect' dropdown, 'Inspect Task', a box will appear on the left side of your screen, the driving predecessor will be noted there, its also a link so by clicking on that predecessor you will jump to that task.
I wish there was a column for this when in the 'Predecessor' tab in the Task Information indicating the driver but as far as I know there isn't, but this is a method to determine the actual driving pred.
